India,England enliven the Worldcup with a tie. After 676 runs and 18 wickets, the match ended in a tie. ICC World Cup 2011 is alive and kicking. At 281 with 2 wickets Enland needed 59 runs from precious 8 overs.

A moment of magic from their spearhead was just the inspiration the team needed. The fielders found a new spring in their steps and the other bowlers suddenly looked extremely potent. When Harbhajan Singh got Matt Prior caught at mid-wicket in the 46th over and Michael Yardy perished to Munaf Patel after Zaheer’s tidy last over, the match was India’s to lose with England needing 29 from the last 12 balls.
Besides the purposeful and sensible batting from Strauss and Bell and a slice of luck, what also took England close to victory was India’s toothless bowling and lethargic fielding.

The Master Blaster reached another milestone with an electrifying atmosphere in the Group B clashes. He became the highest Century maker in World Cup history by scoring his fifth hundred in the prestigious event. It was his 47th ODI century and his 98th overall.

The contest had all the elements to make it a Super Sunday at the packed Chinnaswamy stadium as India were all out for 338 in 49.5 overs.

Andrew Strass led the English team to a victory against The Netherlands at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur on Tuesday 22-Feb-2011 in the 5th match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011.

Netherlands had set a decent target of 292 for the opponents for the loss of 6 wickets. The highlight of the Dutch batting was century by Ryan ten Doeschate. That the Netherlands were no rabbits with the bat was proved as the Peter Borren-led side played the England bowling confidently and aggressively to post an impressive total.Doeschate’s smart batting put England bowlers on the back foot.
